Healthcare Provider Infrastructure Modernization

Industry: Regional Healthcare Provider
Locations: 22 Facilities across Two States
Workloads: 430+ Clinical, Imaging, and EHR Applications
Scope: VMware Renewal, Workload Mapping, Compliance & BC/DR Strategy

The Challenge

A regional healthcare provider faced a 8X cost increase under Broadcom’s VMware model, threatening mission-critical operations that supported patient care and compliance.
The provider’s workloads were distributed across aging on-prem systems and underperforming cloud environments, lacking visibility into utilization and data dependencies.

To modernize safely, they required a partner capable of delivering cloud-like agility with HIPAA-level control .

OUR APPROACH

Renew

Leveraging LogiCloudiQ’s Renew framework, we negotiated a per-core renewal rate 45% below Broadcom’s standard model, securing flexibility to migrate select workloads without penalty.

Assess

Our engineers used AWI to map all 430 applications — clinical, imaging, and telehealth — across their compute, storage, and network dependencies.
The assessment included compliance classification (HIPAA, PCI, PHI) and latency mapping for real-time imaging workloads.

Mitigate

We built a hybrid strategy aligned to workload purpose:

  • Epic workloads → Private cloud and managed colocation for compliance (Epic enabled).
  • Imaging and telehealth workloads → Public cloud for elasticity and global reach.
  • Administrative workloads → Optimized VMware clusters for cost and reliability.

By applying automation and resilience modeling inspired by VCSP’s hospital and diagnostics projects, we eliminated risk of repatriation and achieved seamless workload alignment.
