Professional Services Engagement –

AWI Mapping & Reporting

Industry: Global Manufacturing & Logistics
Workloads: 620 Applications Across 9 Business Units
Scope: AWI ProServe Engagement — Application & Workload Mapping, Optimization, Modernization Roadmap
Engagement Length: 9 Weeks

The Challenge

IT leadership lacked a clear view of what workloads were running, where they were running, and why.

Years of organic growth, M&A activity, and fragmented cloud adoption had left the organization with:

  • Duplicate or underutilized environments
  • Performance inconsistencies across regions
  • Cloud spend overruns
  • No unified workload-to-application dependency mapping

Their goal was to build a data-driven modernization roadmap — identifying which workloads should remain on-prem, which should migrate to cloud, and which were candidates for refactoring or consolidation.

They engaged LogiCloudiQ for a targeted Professional Services Assessment using our Application & Workload Infrastructure Intelligence (AWI) methodology. This particular assessment was $0 due to agreement to participate in the migration phase.

The Solution

Modernization Roadmap & Executive Report

AWI ProServe Report was delivered to the CIO and Infrastructure team.

The report included:

  • 40-page data-driven workload analysis
  • Prioritized modernization roadmap (Phase 1–3)
  • Cost-to-performance modeling and TCO reduction forecast
  • AI readiness assessment for future workloads

Optimization & Placement Modeling

Once dependencies were defined, LogiCloudiQ ran simulations for optimal workload placement scenarios:

  • On-premises VMware
  • Private Cloud
  • Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Colocation / Managed Infrastructure

DecisionMatrix:

Each workload was assigned a cost, performance, and risk score — enabling leadership to visualize best-fit landing zones.

Data Discovery

LogiCloudiQ’s engineering team deployed the AWI mapping, collecting telemetry across compute, storage, and network layers without requiring agents.

This provided full workload visibility, resource consumption patterns, and dependency mapping.

 Key Deliverables:

  • Unified application inventory
  • Workload resource utilization metrics
  • Real-time performance baselines
  • AWI Cost Mapping

Dependency & Criticality Mapping

Using AWI’s framework, every workload was mapped to its associated applications and interdependencies.

The team evaluated performance tiers, latency requirements, data gravity, and security classification.

 Outputs:

  • Criticality scoring model
  • Workload interdependency graph
  • Compliance and data locality insights

The Outcome

Through the AWII Professional Services engagement, the client gained a comprehensive understanding of their infrastructure landscape — including interdependencies, performance baselines, and cost levers.

The AWII Report became the blueprint for the client’s modernization initiative, enabling informed decisions across leadership and engineering.

Within 90 days of completion, the client initiated their first migration wave based entirely on AWII recommendations.
